HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?
Mark: I moved to California in 2014 from New York City. Marco's parents lived two houses away from my best friend.
Marco: My parent's neighborhood was really quiet until Mark moved in with Jason.
Mark: Haha. The neighbors between us were too scared to confront us about the noise , so they sent Marco over. Too bad Marco is only 100lbs soaking wet.
Marco: I don't know what they expected me to do? I wanted to hang out with those guys. The rest of the neighborhood is a senior center.
WAIT... SO DID THE NOISE STOP?
Mark: NOPE!
Marco: Well it did eventually when the cops started making regular appearances at the house.
Mark: Whoops
HOW DID THE IDEA FOR VIBEDRATION COME ABOUT?
Marco: I was at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas in 2014, and Mark was coincidentally in Vegas at the same time. We linked up and saw Kaskade at a pool party.
Mark: I'm pretty sure it was Tiesto
Marco: Haha who cares. Great day! The night wasn't so good to me though...
WHY NOT?
Marco: I went to EDC with my friends that night and got massively dehydrated.
DOESNT THE FESTIVAL OFFER FREE WATER?
Marco: Yes, but my hydration pack broke and I didn't feel like waiting in the long lines to just fill a water bottle.
Mark: You were in bad shape Saturday morning...
Marco: No sh*t, I almost died.
I KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING WITH THIS...
Marco: Exactly. When I saw Mark in the morning I told him I wanted to design my own hydration pack.
Mark: Loved the idea. The market forgot about us young guys.
Marco: You're old.
Mark: I don't like you right now.
Marco: Do you ever like me?
Mark: No comment.
SO THE IDEA WAS BORN IN 2014? WHEN DID YOU GUYS START THE COMPANY?
Mark: We launched the website in March of 2015 with two designs.
Marco: The product sucked.
Mark: Total crap . Lol.
Marco: But people were buying it faster than we could make it.
WHO WAS BUYING YOUR HYDRATION PACKS?
Marco: Our friends who loved going to music festivals. It was affordable and cool . Nothing like it existed on the market.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC FESTIVAL?
Mark: Impossible to pick one.
Marco: Electric Forest in Michigan.
Mark: I love Electric Forest. But I'd also rank Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival at the top. All very different which makes them so special.
Marco: Coachella is a no brainer because it's basically my back yard. I also really enjoyed BUKU in New Orleans and Spring Awakening in Chicago.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC?
Mark: A wide range of electronic but lately I've been into down tempo / deep house electronic music the last couple of years. Pretty much anything on Sirius XM's Chill channel 53...
Marco: House Music.
FAVORITE ARTISTS?
Marco: Tiesto is a legend. I also love Bassnectar, Kaskade & Claude Von Stroke.
Mark: Odesza, Flume, Rufus Du Sol, Solomun & Claptone.
YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN TO SO MANY FESTIVALS. WHAT'S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE?
Marco: Learning how to shuffle from Gabby David at Electric Forest.
Mark: Not showering for five straight days at Mysteryland haha.
Marco: You haven't showered in two years...
Mark: #FestivalLife
Mark: But seriously... seeing Odesza at Hulaween in Florida back in 2015 before they got really big. Such an epic performance.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE NON-FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE?
Mark: We went to Vietnam in 2015 and the roads are chaos! Most people ride scooters and there are absolutely no traffic laws, so it's just a bunch of people criss-crossing. Trying to cross the road is like the video game Frogger.
Marco: What the heck is Frogger???
Mark: OK I'm old... Next question :D
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE VIBEDRATION HYDRATION PACKS?
Marco: I love the holographic silver pack or as we say, "Holla-Graphic"
Mark: Definitely the Galaxy Backstage pack which is our biggest one. When I'm not using it at a festival, I use it as my carry-on everyday backpack.
WHY IS VIBEDRATION SO SPECIAL TO YOU?
Marco: I've always seen myself as an entrepreneur and this company seems more like a hobby than a job. But trust us, we work insanely hard.
Mark: I worked in an office for nearly a decade. That was work. This is play.
Marco: The amount of people that come up to us at festivals and thank us because his/her Vibedration pack "saved their life" is incredibly rewarding.
Mark: Can't agree more. Being able to connect with customers at the festivals is amazing.
WHAT'S THE LONG-TERM VISION FOR VIBEDRATION?
Mark: First and foremost, we always want to create products for our customers. Marco and I have never made decisions about our products based on our own interests. We listen to the feedback of so many customers through conversations at festivals, emails, social media, you name it...
Marco: I think this is a global brand. We want to reach millennials throughout the world and keep everybody safe and hydrated.
