Festival Survival Guide: What to Bring to a Music Festival

Vibe Team | January.24.2020

I know you’re probably still recovering from 2019 festival season, but 2020 festival season is just around the corner and will be here before you know it. We’re here to share our best tips to get you prepped and ready to go. Here is what we’re calling the festival survival guide a.k.a. what to bring to a music festival. A general rule of thumb is to always double-check the festival’s FAQ pages to find out what’s allowed and not allowed so you can have a smooth entrance to the best weekend ever!

Here is our list of must-haves to bring along with you!

What to bring to a music festival

1. Wallet with ID & Ticket/Wristband

You can’t get into a festival without your ticket/wristband and you’ll need your wallet for your ID and credit card/cash to use for purchases inside.

2. Hydration Pack

Staying hydrated is most important when it comes to music festivals. You’ll be exerting so much energy dancing on the dance floor that you need to keep hydrated so you can party all night long. We have tons of hydration packs to choose from based on what you need in terms of size and design.

3. EARPLUGS

Protect your ears from Tinnitus and wear earplugs. Whether you chill in the back or ride the rail, earplugs are super important.

4. Bandana/Face Mask

Some of these festivals can get extra dusty with all the dirt getting kicked up. Get a solid bandana to cover your mouth and nose to prevent killer allergies post-festival.

5. Portable Charger

If your phone is notorious for dying quickly, having a portable charger can ensure your phone stays charged throughout the festival. This is especially important if you plan to Uber or Lyft to and from the festival to ensure you’ll be able to order from your phone.

6. Wet Wipes & Hand Sanitizer

Super important for the festival bathrooms #IYKYK.

7. A Fan

Trust me these things are lifesavers when you are in the crowd and it’s super hot and sweaty. Plus your friends around you will thank you for saving their lives with that whiff of cool air.

Those are the most important items, but here are some other ideas on what to bring that are nice to have:

  • Sunscreen, sunglasses and/or a hat if it’s sunny out
  • Chapstick and gum
  • Pashmina
  • Kaleidoscope Glasses and/or Goggles
  • Kandi bracelets

We hope this helps you get ready and excited for festival season 2020. We hope to vibe with you at a fest this year! If you love attending festivals, we have an amazing ambassador program you can join to represent us from fest to fest. Learn more about what it takes to join the vibe tribe.
