Hey hey festival season is here! @VibeWithAde here to recap my amazing weekend at my first ever CRSSD which is a house and techno festival located in beautiful San Diego, California. CRSSD is a two-day festival that happens twice a year and I attended the Spring ‘20 Edition. It was an amazing weekend with incredible music and the best vibes.
CRSSD was also my first 21+ festival, since attending Holy Ship! It was definitely a fun dynamic where all the adults got to play. It was so much fun being able to explore a new festival with a beautiful backdrop. Here’s how the festival went down.
CRSSD is in the heart of the harbor and downtown San Diego which provides a beautiful landscape of being at a festival in the city on the water. The weather was so amazing at CRSSD this year. Usually CRSSD in the spring is known for having rain, but we had beautiful sunny weather during the day and then we could rock our House and Techno jackets at night.
Three stages, two fountains you can run through and tons of food and drink options make CRSSD the ultimate adult playground. I was super impressed by how many food options CRSSD had from Big Mozzarella sticks, Spicy Pie pizza and lots of vegan options. I had the most amazing vegan tots both days of the festival. Drinks were pricey so budget well for this if you decide to attend in the Fall. It was $12 for ONE small White Claw. They also had yummy hard Kombucha that was refreshing during the warm days.
The vibes tho? Such a good time. Festival goers were there to get funky to some house and techno.
Our squad decided to do themed days. We were party animals for day 1 and disco kings and queens for day 2. It’s funny because we had those themes as a group, but LOTS of people also wore animal print and disco materials.
Since CRSSD had a clear bag policy this year, Vibedration's Clear Mini h2o Packs were perfect for the occasion. Tiny sunglasses, fun jackets and hats also made a statement at this year’s CRSSD.
CRSSD is spread across three stages that plays to the best of house, techno and pop electronic. Such amazing talent across the board that gave such a unique lineup. You could get down at The Palms to house music or head over to City Steps for some body pumping techno. Or go to the main stage at Ocean View to vibe out to some of the live acts.
Favorite sets from day 1 included Nora en Pure who played at sunset at Ocean View. It was the most magical set. We placed ourselves above the fountain and had an amazing view of the main stage. Patrick Topping was also a highlight for me. I had never seen him before and his set had me shuffling the whole time.
Day 2 highlights were seeing Charlotte de Witte and Carl Cox for the first time, my little techno heart was in heaven. Finally ending the weekend with Rufus du Sol gave me and everyone all the feels. Their live set is so incredible, I highly recommend you catch it soon.
All in all, my first CRSSD was so amazing and I hope I get to return for a second time in the fall. I highly recommend this festival as it is a well run festival and we had such a great time.
