The Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival drew its biggest crowd to date for the inaugural weekend of 2017.
The weather was beautiful, and the music was amazing, but before we get into our favorite moments from Coachella weekend 1, check out The Vibe Tribe's sick Coachella 2017 Recap video.
Coachella Day 1 Highlights
The first day of Coachella had a strong lineup featuring seasoned festival vets like Mac Demarco, Glass Animals, Empire of the Sun, Dillon Francis, and many more.
Mac Demarco is no stranger to festivals. He played a chill pre-dusk set of old and new material including his patented brand of humor that kept us smiling throughout.
After Mac’s set, the first tough decision of Coachella arrived: Glass Animals at the MainStage or Crystal Castles at the Sahara tent? We opted for Glass Animals and they killed it (although we heard great things about Crystal Castles’ set). Glass Animals opened with their hit “Life Itself”. It gave us goosebumps.
Radiohead headlined the first night, and despite audio issues (caused by “aliens” according to frontman Thom Yorke), the legendary band gave a moving performance.
Just as Radiohead was finishing up, Dillon Francis got ready to take the Sahara Tent stage. He brought an electric energy to the tent that had the crowd losing their respective minds. Every beat drop got a huge response from the packed-in crowd, but it’s hard to imagine how crazy it was without listening to the set. Overall, the first day of Coachella 2017 did not disappoint.
Coachella Day 2 Highlights
The second day of the festival was just as beautiful as the first, and the word of the day was rap. A$AP Rocky and Tyler the Creator performed with Schoolboy Q, Wutang’s RZA performed with his hip-hop-rock duo Banks & Steelz, and Gucci Mane closed out the Sahara Tent.
Coachella was “Bad and Boujee” heaven for Migos fans this weekend. Despite not being on the official Coachella lineup, the trio from Georgia made four guest appearances with Future, DJ Snake, DJ Khaled, and Gucci Mane.
Their craziest appearance was when they joined Future on stage. The crowd was already rowdy, but people lost their minds when Migos came out to perform “Bad and Boujee” and “T-Shirt”. Oh yeah, did we mention Future also brought out Drake and Ty Dolla Sign?
Aside from the hip hop talent, there was an impressive roster of other genres during day 2. Car Seat Headrest played right before Thundercat, and both acts left the crowd wanting more. Right before Lady Gaga headlined with her new single “The Cure”, Bon Iver gave a mesmerizing performance complete with trippy visuals. Speaking of trippy visuals, have you seen our new designer hydration packs for music festivals?
Featured Festival Gear
The outfits we see at Coachella are a major highlight of the festival for us. The classic flower-crown still made an appearance, but funky crop-tops and fishtail braids dominated the scene. Here are a few of our favorite Coachella festival outfits.

For those of you who have never experienced Coachella, it gets HOT, and staying hydrated is key to getting through the weekend. Our Vibedration ambassadors were out with their hydration packs all weekend spreading good vibes and sharing water. It's always good to pack extra mouthpieces for your bag so you can share water and not germs.
We noticed a wide range of hydration packs at Coachella this year. Many people chose to stay cool and express themselves with our designer hippie bags to match Coachella's spiritual atmosphere.
Coachella Day 3 Highlights
The first weekend ended on the right note. With arguably the most stacked roster of the festival, performers like Future Islands, Goldlink, Lorde, and Grouplove raised the bar for the second weekend.
There were so many amazing performances at Coachella on Sunday that we have to stick to the 3 that everyone has been talking about.
First of all, whoever decided Hans Zimmer should perform at Coachella deserves a major raise. He performed with a live orchestra and played a mix of his most iconic tracks with selections from The Lion King, The Dark Knight, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Zimmer even brought Pharrell out to perform. The crowd loved it. Some might even say his performance was interstellar.
The french electronic duo Justice was a Coachella week one favorite. We’ve heard the most buzz about this performance, which raised the crowd’s energy to an all-time high before headliner Kendrick Lamar took the stage.
Just a few days after releasing his new album, DAMN., Kendrick Lamar showed why he’s one of the most successful artists alive right now. Kendrick performed for almost an hour and 20 minutes, and the crowd showed no signs of slowing down after a long weekend.
